May also be known as Galium Aparine, Rubiaceae, Clivers. Cleaver herb is a soothing, relaxing and diffusive diuretic which influences the kidneys and bladder. It acts mildly upon the bowels. As cleavers is a powerful diuretic, it should not be given where there is a tendency for diabetes.

Traditionally Cleavers has been used for Gravel, scalding urine, bladder irritation, dropsy, scrofula, ulcers, scurvy, suppressions of urine, obstruction of urinary organs, gonorrhea, sore nipples, and wounds.
